Confessions of a Brogue-Oh-Holic!!

Every time I see any brogues or brogue styled shoes in any store, it tempts me so much that I feel like its crying out to me saying 'Take me I'm yours'... Lol that sounds very funny but its true, I love brogues!!

There is something about the design of these shoes that is just so attractive! Its elegant, sturdy and survives every minute changing weather here in London.

According to Google brogues are a style of low-heeled shoe or boot traditionally characterized by multiple-piece, sturdy leather uppers with decorative perforations (or "broguing") and serration along the pieces' visible edges. They originated from Scotland and Ireland and were used as outdoor shoes.

However, now brogues have become a style statement giving a hint of elegance and smartness. It definitely can be dressed up or down according to one's need. I know that the original brogues can be a bit heavy on the wallet but now all high street stores have them, in much better price, at least for me! Thats where I get mine from and now have quite a few!

My favourite one, and the one that I have used the most has to be this black ankle length one from Office (shoe store). Its pure leather and I have had this for more than 2 years now. Its really strong, sturdy and since its black I wear it with most of my outfits. It is a bit boyish style, which is what I love about it the most! At the beginning the leather was a bit hard but now after using them for so long they have become soft and light. Its just perfect and I love it!

This one is from Office as well. As you can see it has quite a bit of heel giving it a more feminine look ,which can sometimes be a bit uncomfortable to use. However I love the colour combination and it looks so elegant when worn. I love the colour block as they are more of neutral tones, its really easy to combine with my outfits!

Now this one is a bit of a funky one! Its a brogue with a twist. Its a dark brown with leopard prints and  I just love leopard prints or any other animal prints of that matter. And to find a brogue with my favourite print was a must have. Its funny that this one is from Office as well. Maybe its the store to find and buy nice Brogues. I would definitely recommend to check their collection if anyone is interested!

This one is just a brogue style shoe/sandal, that I like to group it in my brogue collection. Its the brogue style that makes it so pretty and attracted me to buy this one! This one is lovely in the summer. Its light, airy and looks good with trousers and dresses. I have worn them so much that they have started to worn out. I got them like more than a year ago from New Look. They are girl-y, stylish and pretty!

The last one on my list is my newest addition to my collection. This one is from Bertie. Its navy suede and patent leather. How cool are navy shoes! Its just an elegant classic colour and the structure is perfect for my tiny feet. Its so comfortable and light weight that I am always tempted to buy more!

My love for Brogues is growing and I know that I will surely be adding some more! For anybody living in London, I think this is the perfect type of shoes that one can enjoy wearing yet look elegant without having to put much effort. With help of some good polish and brushes its quite easy to maintain them as well.

Thats my growing Brogue collection, can't wait to see which style and shape will attract me next and soon be added to my Brogues list!!

L'oreal New Nude Magique CC Cream- The Review

Now I have been using this product-L'Oreal New Nude Magique CC Cream for quite sometime. I would say enough for me to honestly review about it.

To begin with, I have only been using make-up products since only like 6 months on a regular basis. I have always been interested to buy lipsticks and blushes and eye make-up products but never had the much interest in Foundations.Mostly because my experiences with foundations had always been a bit off tune as I always found them to be a bit cakey and unsuitable to my taste.

However, when I was shopping in Boots, I bumped into the L'Oreal counter and was attracted to these their new CC Cream range. The funny thing was I had just read about them in a magazine the other day and sort of had an idea that they are made specially of Colour Control purposes.

I have always been curious about BB Creams but never tried one, so I directly jumped into the decision of rather buying a CC Cream because is was the newer 'IT' product. So I ended up picking the L'Oreal New Nude Magique CC Cream in Anti-Dullness which is the purple packaging one.

Coming home I did a bit more research on CC Creams and came to find out that its for better coverage, sun protection and treatment of uneven skin tones. This sounded pretty good so there was no stopping me.!

My first reactions of using it was why is it so purple, but I guess its the formula of the ingredients that makes it that colour. I used the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to really buff in the CC Cream, and as a result my skin tone was really even. With the Benefit Porefessional as a base/primer, adding this CC Cream made my skin look fresher, even, and gave a nice coverage without making me feel the cak-y-ness of a foundation.

The other good thing was it lasted for the whole day and didn't dry out my skin at all. It did not flake out neither became patchy. I was really happy that I bought this product and actually found my perfect alternative for foundations.

Now I feel like my make-up routine is complete and the credit definitely goes to the L'Oreal New Nude Magique CC Cream. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has bad experiences with foundations but still want a bit of coverage for the complete make-up look.

One is for sure though, I am now a huge fan of the L'Oreal New Nude Magique CC Cream and will surely be repurchasing it!!
